Overview

Marlin Apartments, known for its sleek, spacious, and modern serviced accommodations, approached us to update the kitchens in their Canary Wharf property. Marlin, founded in 2003, has expanded rapidly across the UK, gaining recognition for their industry-leading quality and attention to detail.

Their goal for this project was to bring the kitchens in line with their high-end aesthetic by modernising the design and colour scheme.

Our Approach

After an initial consultation with Marlin Apartments’ Contracts Manager, we explored their vision for a contemporary kitchen design that balanced quality, style, and cost. To ensure the right fit, we conducted a trial refurbishment of two kitchens. Once the design was approved by the Design Manager, it was decided that we would proceed with refurbishing the remaining 81 kitchens in the building.

Delivery

The success of the trial refurbishment prompted the green light for the full-scale project. With a focus on minimising disruption to guests, our team created a detailed schedule to carry out the works efficiently. Each kitchen was meticulously refurbished, including sourcing and ordering custom materials, cutting them to fit, and ensuring installation was seamless.

Throughout the 3.5-month project, our team worked with precision to install the new kitchens, ensuring each was left in immaculate condition upon completion.

Challenges

Despite careful planning, one of the main challenges was working around unexpected bookings that arose during the project. These changes required flexibility in our scheduling to ensure minimal impact on both the guests and the project timeline.

Through close communication with Marlin’s management and a dynamic approach to scheduling, we successfully adapted to these challenges without extending the overall project duration.

The Result

The refurbishment of all 83 kitchens was completed within the proposed 3.5-month time frame and budget. The upgraded kitchens met the high design and quality standards Marlin Apartments is known for, and our ability to minimise guest disruption helped maintain the client’s high level of customer satisfaction.
